Mule Deer

The mule deer season runs Oct 10th through Nov 3rd. We only take a handful of mule deer off of the ranch every year, this allows us to be able to hunt low-pressured deer that use the landscape in a natural way. Mule deer reside in rugged terrain on the ranch which can pose a challenge for harvest. We generally target mule deer in the last two weeks of the season when they move out of the breaks onto the much gentler plains to rut. The methods we use include spot/stalk tactics and/or sit and wait. Mule deer densities are low in our area. Usually, we are seeing around six to eight deer a day.
